— from Gretchen M. Krampf, OWC Steering Committee Member–

Orcas Women’s Coalition (OWC) is a vibrant, energetic network of women and transgender people on Orcas Island, working together to create positive change through progressive reform. We believe in social justice, a healthy environment, healthcare for all, and upholding the Constitution. We make activism fun!

We’re hosting our Summer quarterly meeting on Sunday, August 19th from 4-6 PM at the Orcas Senior Center. Feel free to arrive before 4PM for social networking and light refreshments.  The meeting begins promptly at 4 with Opening, Announcements and Action Team Updates. This meeting will invite input on OWC’s process for endorsing female-identified candidates for public office and there will be info on upcoming elections.

Our Action Team for Political Action and Civic Engagement (PACE) is celebrating the Primary Election success of our endorsed candidate, Debra Lekanoff and we’ll get updates from Immigrant Rights, Healthcare and Affordable Housing (YES For Homes)… all with dynamic programs and initiatives underway. Environmental Action (EAT), Women’s Rights, Indigenous Rights, Education and LGBTQIA are Teams-in-Development and this meeting is a great opportunity to learn more and join in.

We invite island women and transgender people to join us to build strong and impactful support for social justice and inclusion. You can sign up to receive notices and updates at www.orcaswomenscoalition.org.
