Bring a friend, a candle, a conscience, a voice, love
Friday, July 12, 7:30 p.m., Village Green
— from Jude Nash —
On Friday July 12, Lights for Liberty: A Vigil to End Human Detention Camps, will bring thousands of people to locations worldwide as well as to concentration camps across the country, into the streets and into their own front yards, to protest the inhumane conditions faced by migrants.
A vigil will take place right here on Orcas Island at the Village Green in Eastsound. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., there will be live music by our own Mandy Troxel and activists, organizers, and members of impacted communities will speak prior to the candlelight vigil at 9 p.m.
In addition, there will be a table set up where petitions will be available to sign and donations can be made to help support the work being done to end these injustices.
