From the San Juan Scenic Byway Project
Missed the bus? No time to pick up friends at the ferry? Too busy to give relatives the island tour? Arrived by private boat or airplane? Don’t worry! An Orcas shuttle bus is back this summer with a bonus: two travelers can ride for the price of one and see Washington State’s newest Scenic Byway. Sign up to receive your free companion Byway Explorer Day Pass at www.visitsanjuans.com/scenicbyway or at the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce. Redeem it on the shuttle bus running on Orcas Island Friday through Monday. Use it to take in one of the free Rosario Resort Music Concert and Historical Narrative presentations or get dropped off at a trailhead at Moran State Park or the southern trailhead at Turtleback Mountain.
Download the schedule and pick-up locations at www.sanjuantransit.com/. Pick-up sites include the ferry landing, Deer Harbor, Orcas Golf, Eastsound, Rosario Resort and Moran State Park. Wheelchairs are welcome on the buses but call 378-8887 in advance to make sure proper arrangements are made.
