Parent Meetings for Orcas Island School students in the 2nd and 3rd grades, and in the 6th grade, will be held at the school library this Monday, Oct. 12. Both meetings begin at 5:30. Snacks will be provided.

A meeting for parents of 7th-8th graders will be held at the school library on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m.

Information about new and/or continuing  programs from Readiness to Learn (RTL) and OIPP (Orcas Island Prevention Partnership) will be presented with details about Family Literacy Month Activities and the Family Emergency Fund (RTL) and a new community-wide  program for youth, grades 5 -12 — Natural Helpers (OIPP).

As in the past, parents will then create their own discussions on topics important to them. The facilitators, Margie Doyle (RTL Coordinator), Sandi Burt and Julie Pinardi (RTL Family Support Specialists), and Marta Nielson (OIPP Director), will  provide support, networking, information and an opportunity for parent discussion.

The following week, a meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 19, for the Kindergarten-1st grade in Mathew Chasanoff’s classroom in the elementary school (A Spanish translators will be in attendance and childcare will be provided) and for the  11th-12th grades in school library.
