Kindergarten Screening will take place on Wednesday, April 28 and Thursday, April 29 in the Orcas Island school library.

All children entering kindergarten (five years old before Sept. 1, 2010) are encouraged to attend the screening on this date.

The screening covers the developmental areas of fine and gross motor development, concept skills, hearing, vision, and speech and language development. The purpose of the screening is to make sure all children on our island are growing strong and ready to learn.

The screening takes about 45 minutes and is set up in fun centers. Parents should bring the child’s birth certificate and immunization records. Children may be enrolled in kindergarten at this time.

To schedule screening appointments, call Roann at the elementary school, 376-2286.
