New Orcas Road curve was open to two lanes of traffic for the weekend, then back down to one lane on Monday with traffic lights. The new road is gravel so drive with caution. Next week, the pavement of the old Orcas Road curve will be removed. Work has begun on building the new Nordstrom Lane intersection. On Monday, Nordstroms Lane is closed to all traffic for a day or two while the new road is tied in. Late next week, work on the next new curve at Swan Road will begin.
Road closure north of McNallie Road continues for up to another week beginning Monday. Detour signs to Dolphin Bay Rd and McNallie Rd will be in place.
Beginning again on Monday, traffic control lights will be operational because only one lane will be available. The current wait time is up to 6 minutes. For safety, DO NOT proceed on a red light!
Nordstroms Lane will be closed to all traffic for two days early next week, except to residents and EMS.
Work hours are 7 am to 5 pm. The speed limit in the construction zone is 25 mph at all times!
