Kiwanis Club Silent Auction at Doty’s Marketplace 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cords of wood, bed and breakfast stays, paintings, wooden ferry models, biplane trips are just a few of the many auction items. Minimum bids apply.

Chamber of Commerce Community Parade “Community in Action” at 11 p.m. in Eastsound. Grand Marshals for this year’s parade are two people who have been community members in action for many years – Dick & Velma Doty.  Cash prizes for the best floats in the parade! First Prize is $250 … Second Prize is $150 … and Third Prize is $100! To be eligible for these prizes, the float needs to be built on a vehicle, or towed behind one.  The judges are looking for creativity, entertainment value, and representation of this year’s theme (Community in Action). Sunday, July 4

Odd Fellows Dance Party 8:30 p.m.  Local band, The Solatones and two DJs playing reggae, funk, and world beat.  Cost is $10. Call the Oddfellows @ 376-5640.

Eastsound Fireworks Show Starts at 9:15 p.m. at Waterfront Park. The Community Band will be playing all the classic July 4 music.  Put down a blanket and enjoy the show!  Fireworks begin at approximately 10 pm. Call the Chamber at 376-2273 for more information.
