— from San Juan County Public Works —

The time is nearing for construction at the Orcas Landing Marine Facility to begin.

Work will start in earnest by October 31, but construction-related activities should be expected leading up to this date. On-site construction activities could include: contractor mobilization, construction fencing erection, utility location, and parking reorganization.

The project entails construction of block retaining walls, ADA pedestrian ramp with hand railing and resurfacing of a soon to be accessible public viewing area. Work includes: clearing, rock excavation, demolition and removal of obstructions, utility relocation and other work.

San Juan Public Works is eager to begin construction. We aim to minimize inconveniences to the public through diligent collaboration with the contractor and open communication with the public.
