Wednesday, June 5, 2 p.m., Orcas Senior Center
— from Lena Kassa for Orcas Senior Center —
Hear ye, Hear ye! Join us and the Orcas Island Shakespeare Society in reading the plays and poems of Shakespeare, watch Shakespeare-based films on our new large screen TV, and discuss with like-minded people.
Because of its insights into aging well, we are considering King Lear for our first read. An informational meeting will take place on June 5 at 2 p.m. at the Orcas Senior Center.
If you cannot attend, send your ideas for future meetings to seniorcenterprograms@gmail.com or call Vicki O’Keefe at 360-376-7723.
**If you are reading theOrcasonian for free, thank your fellow islanders. If you would like to support theOrcasonian CLICK HERE to set your modestly-priced, voluntary subscription. Otherwise, no worries; we’re happy to share with you.**
To clarify so that there is no misunderstanding, the Orcas Island Shakespeare Society will not be reading to an audience. Rather we will read WITH anyone interested in attending Vicki O’Keefe’s “Shake Hands With Shakespeare” program. Participation is required. It’s our mission to make Shakespeare accessible to everyone, so no excuses allowed. There is fun to be had!
“Enjoyment required. Enchantment Desired.”
