The Orcas Island School District is proud to invite all community members, most especially veterans, to its Tuesday, November 13 Veterans’ Day Assembly.
The event will start with a continental breakfast at 8:45 in the cafeteria. Please RSVP for the breakfast by leaving a message at 376-2286.
The assembly will begin at 9:30. All grades, K-12, will honor our veterans.
The Community Band will play patriotic music, elementary school students will provide quotes and sing songs highlighting the meaning of service, and middle/high school students will honor our veterans with a “White Table.” (The table is a place of honor, set in memory of fallen, missing, or imprisoned military service-members.)
We are honored to have Pat Ayers, a veteran nurse with the Navy, be a featured speaker at the event. All of the community is invited to this very special recognition of our military heroes.
