This year the Orcas Island School District has created a group called the “Calendar Committee.” This committee is tasked with creating calendars for both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years. Before we begin creating our calendars, we would love to have more community input, so we can hear more “voices” and feedback.
The committee is made up of staff (classified, certificated, non-rep), students and parents: Cindy Ballanger, Darren Dix, Jen Alley, Liz Guerry, Jenny Johnston, Jennifer Pietsch, Madden Surbaugh, Juliette Mckenney, Isabel Guerra and Suzanna Smith. If interested, please fill out this survey by Wednesday, January 31st. We would love to hear from you.

Although input is being solicited, and the committee will make recommendations on the calendar, it is the School Board that approves the final calendar, from what they have been given from the teachers union.
