Contributed by Rachel Newcombe, Community Relations Chair, Orcas Island Library Board
Don’t have any plans this Sunday afternoon? Don’t fret. The Orcas Island Library will be open from noon until 3 p.m., beginning January 17th. This trial run is in response to the many residents who filled out the 2009 Library Surveys, requesting Sunday hours.
There will be a six-month trial run at which point the Board will evaluate its success.
Funding for this trial run is generously provided for by Orcas residents Bob Henigson and Bob Lundeen, both strong supporters of the plan to offer Sunday hours. We thank them for their belief in this endeavor.
