The Orcas Island Library is pleased to invite community members of all ages to its 4th Annual Summer Nature Sketching Event on Thursday, June 11, at 5:00 p.m. at the Orcas Island Library Park.

Led by local biologist, naturalist, and nature illustrator Robin Lee Carlson, this popular annual gathering offers participants the opportunity to slow down, observe the natural world, and practice the art of nature sketching in the beautiful surroundings of the library garden and park.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or have never picked up a sketchbook before, this welcoming event is designed for all skill levels. Families, children, teens, and adults are encouraged to attend. Sketching notebooks and colored pencils will be provided, making it easy for everyone to participate.

Participants are encouraged to RSVP in advance so we can prepare enough supplies. Those interested may RSVP online, sign up at the library front desk, or email sgailey@orcaslibrary.org with the number of people attending.

The library is committed to making programs accessible to everyone. Anyone who needs assistance or transportation to participate is encouraged to contact Sam Gailey at sgailey@orcaslibrary.org.
