Weight Watchers opened their first meeting in January at the Funhouse Commons. There were some concerns about attracting enough people to make the investment of staffing the meeting and providing the materials necessary to make it the same high standard as Weight Watchers nationwide. Territory Manager, Lisa Fry, decided to take a chance and opened an official Weight Watchers meeting on Orcas Island.
Three weeks later, this enthusiastic group has collectively lost 105 pounds. New members join every week and an evening meeting is being launched on February 25 at OPALCO with an Information Session at 4:30 in the afternoon.
Anyone interested is encouraged to come and learn more about what Weight Watchers 360 is all about. “We want to give our members a choice between Saturday morning and Monday evening. It will allow members to go off island once in a while on a Saturday and not miss the meeting since they could attend on a Monday evening,” said Leader Carol Kulminski.
“We are all about the service vision. We care about our members and want to provide the tools and information to help them reach their weight loss and optimum health goals.”
Weight Watchers is also hiring. Lifetime Members within 10 pounds of their goal weight are encouraged to apply. For more information, you can reach Carol at 360-4198.
