— from Lorena Stankevich for Orcas Elementary —

Monday, March 26, Orcas Island Elementary School will hold the 3rd  Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) Parent night, thanks to a generous grant from the Orcas Island Education Foundation. The focus of this parent night is to provide an overview of PBIS at school and assist parents with steps to implement these ideas at home.

Following an overview, parents will choose three out of seven mini sessions to attend. Mini sessions will focus on the following topics: essentials for parenting preschoolers, the joy of reading, supporting your child through grief and fear, the power of playing games, technology for kids, engaging the pre teen reader, building grit in your child, the youth brain, and the public health hospital district: let’s talk.

A special thanks to the Funhouse for providing childcare. Pizza dinner is provided for the kids and snacks for the adults. Time is 5:30-7:15. If you are interested in attending contact Lorena Stankevich at Orcas Island Elementary School 376-2286.
