With interest from the Principal, an energy grant, and a partial donation of fixtures and lights, the Orcas Christian School completed a campus wide retrofit, replacing all of their traditional light bulbs, including fluorescent bulbs to “Best Reading” LED bulbs in all classrooms and common areas.

Terry Pottle, OCS CEO and Principal had been recommending to the board for some time about the student advantages to LED lighting over older technology and with a partial donation of several hundred fixtures and bulbs, proceeded to change out the old with the new.

“With OPALCO’s help this will also save the school several thousand dollars a year in energy costs and is certainly much more environmentally friendly” stated Pottle.
