Monday, August 17, 7:30 pm, Orcas Center

— from Joyce Stone, OICMF —

mirooutside2013This summer the Miró Quartet is back, and in addition to their concert performances during the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival, there’s an added bonus!

They’re having a pre-release party of an incredible double disc set (Blu-ray DVD/CD) of Schubert’s Great G Major String Quartet. Last year the quartet recorded and filmed the making of this disc in Seattle at Nordstrom Hall on David Fulton’s instrument collection, including several Stradivari and Guarneri. Daniel Ching, William Fedkenheuer, John Largess and Joshua Gindele were commissioned by benefactor David Fulton to embark on this bold and beautiful journey.

The quartet has chosen Orcas Island as the perfect setting to make this announcement, as they embark on their 20-year anniversary, and a select number of patrons will have the opportunity to be a part of this exclusive event. The evening includes a live performance, an exciting multimedia debut, and informative Q&A with the Miró Quartet.

Tickets are $40 and include a copy of the Miró Quartet “transcendence”  Blu-ray Disc and audio CD. Guests will also enjoy a reception of delicious hors d’oeuvres and Thurston Wolfe wine in the Madrona Room.  To purchase, visit www.oicmf.org.
