From the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce
If you’ve been following the news of late, you’ve undoubtedly heard more and more about the Affordable Care Act (ACA), sometimes referred to as Obamacare.
The Chamber wants to make sure all our business members are aware of the requirements in the ACA, with a deadline of October 1 quickly approaching. [Editor’s note: Oct. 1 is the first date Washington State residents can “sign up” for Obamacare — the deadline for mandatory personal registration is March 31, 2014].

Here are some resources for you to consult:
- NFIB home page website.
- An NFIB healthcare PDF download you can review.
- A simple NFIB website with quick answers.
- Washington State Insurance Commissioner’s small business info.
Please take a moment to review what your business requirements are, and how your business might be affected with the upcoming October 1 deadline.
Feel free to contact the Chamber with any questions; we will do the best we can to provide information. We receive updates from NFIB, but are not a member. The information provided is available to the general public
