Orcas Center is still seeking monologues for Monologue Night, June 12.
The theme this year is: What happened to (the character) when he or she encountered an artistic experience?
Deborah Sparks, Theater Productions Director at the Center, says , “We are seeking characters that are:
— speaking in the present moment – using “I” statements
— though may reference the past or future, are also speaking/referencing
themselves to the audience, in the present moment.
— can be dramatic or comedic
— is for an actor to perform – not only a story to be told
Email your monologues to Sparks@orcascenter.org by May 25.
Monologue Night, Friday June 12, will feature the performance by local writers and actors sharing the original monologues. In years past, the monologues have centered around pets and around experiences with Islam.
