— from Tom Fiscus, President, Orcas Center Board of Trustees —

The Orcas Center Board of Trustees announces that it’s search for a new Executive Director has been narrowed from 12 applicants to four finalists. In alphabetical order they are: Margie Doyle (Eastsound, WA), Heidi Heimarck (Everett, WA), Brian Kemp (Seattle, WA) and Erik Koehler (Orcas, WA).

Over the next week, all will be interviewed live by members of the Selection Committee. Steve Jung is heading the final phase of the process, which is a series of live interviews between the finalists and eight members of the selection committee, broken down into teams of two and conducted on a single day. The finalist interview teams are composed of a combination of three Board members and five members of the community. They will probe the knowledge, skills, experience, and possible fit of the candidates.

In addition to these finalist interviews, the Board is sponsoring a reception for each finalist at the end of his or her day’s interviews. The community is invited and encouraged to attend as many of the receptions as possible to meet the candidates.

Each reception will be held at the Orcas Center Madrona Room at 4 p.m., on Saturday, Mar. 4; Sunday, Mar.5; Monday, Mar.6; and Friday, Mar.10. Light refreshments will be served. Though by no means required, please feel free to bring a favorite snack to share. We hope you will come meet the candidates, interact with them, and then provide us with any comments that you feel are relevant to the Board’s final selection. There will be paper, pencils and a comment box available for you to provide us your impressions.
