Orcas band Vexing Left is lined up for a full concert at Orcas Center. The new multigenerational trio of Vexing Left consists of sax, bass, drums and vocals that play with sparse, simple dynamics between heavy this and jazz that. Improvisational sax and vocals weave through weirdness and sultry, making each live performance unique.
The show is on Friday. Dec. 12 starting at 7 p.m. Opening the set is island favorite Wild Child. The group will play classic rock and favorite tunes from the 1960s to 1990s.
Vexing Left won three of six awards at the 2025 Battle of the Bands presented by Orcas Center, including the coveted People’s Choice Award and Best Shredder. Having only played four shows since its December 2024 debut, the trio is excited to record and create throughout an island winter, with more live joy to come in spring.
Tickets range in price from $10-$50, with a special $10 price for students. Purchase tickets online at www.OrcasCenter.org, over the phone at 360-376-2281 x 1, or in-person Tuesday – Friday 11am-2pm, and an hour prior to showtime. And don’t forget, volunteers who help with iPad check-in get to see the show for free!
