Come celebrate Washington State Parks and Orca Action Month at Orca Sing 2024 on June 15 at Lime Kiln Point State Park. The event will start at approximately 7 p.m. and end at dusk.
Orca Sing is an annual summer solstice event, dedicated to the recovery of our endangered Southern Resident Community of orca whales. Come enjoy the music and watch for whales as the sun sets. The Petrichords will be offering their musical talents at this year’s event.
First Nations naturalists/educators Odin Lonning and Orca Annie (Kéet Shuká) will offer Tlingit drumming, songs, and urgently needed Indigenous perspective about killer whales, especially on recovery of our cherished Southern Residents.
Tours of the historic lighthouse will be offered before and after the performances. Shuttle transportation will be available through San Juan Transit ($10 pp, Roundtrip. Pick-up at 6:30 p.m. in front of The Whale Museum. Return trip from Lime Kiln is at 8:30 pm. Sunset bus also available.). Carpools encouraged as parking is limited. A Discover Pass is required to park in the State Park lot and the Interpretive Center at Lime Kiln will be open to assist with Discover Pass needs.
