It’s that time of year again when Orcas Christian School is preparing to fill shoe boxes with Christmas gifts for children in over 100 countries in the world. These kids have absolutely nothing, and our simple gifts have made a huge difference. Last year we sent over 80 boxes from OCS!! We will be putting big boxes in each classroom for you to bring items to be packed in a box.
Samaritan’s Purse makes these suggestions:
- School Supplies: pens, pencils and sharpeners, writing pads, calculators, coloring books, etc.
- Toys: Small cars, balls, dolls, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, Etch-a-Sketch, Toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries, ) Slinky,
- Hygiene Items: Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, washcloth, bar soap, dental floss
- Other: Hard candies (nothing that will melt,) socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries.)
If you have any shoe boxes, we need to get started wrapping them in Christmas paper, so bring them in. Our packing day is Tuesday, November 18, so we need everything brought in before that date. Items can be dropped off at Orcas Christian School, Monday–Friday 8:30 – 3:30.
