Dear Members of the San Juan County Council:
Thank you for yesterday afternoon’s announcement of a special Council meeting, three days from now, on the Killebrew Lake Road culvert replacement project.
Many of us affected constituents would like to provide effective public comments directed to the current status of the staff’s work. I take it the current status will not be available until the staff gives its update at the meeting. For that reason, I respectfully request that you allow public commenters to reserve their three-minute comments until after the staff presents its update. The agenda, as published, would force us to present our public comments “in the dark,” before we know anything about the current status of the project.
I make this request on behalf of the Board of Directors of Harney View Park and Road Association, a homeowner’s association comprised of 40 residences one mile east of the Orcas ferry landing. I have reason to believe that this request is supported by a large number of the hundreds of other residents whose homes are off of Killebrew Lake Road.
