This coming Friday, June 28th, the Community Foundation is hosting an Open House to introduce Lindsay Jennings, the next Executive Director of OICF. I hope you are able to drop by between 3-6 pm to say hello and help welcome Lindsay to her new role. OICF is located at 33 Urner St #4 in Eastsound.
OICF staff and Board have been working towards this transition for over two years. It was, and is, important to all involved that the work of OICF not be sidelined during the process, as so many nonprofits and donors rely on Foundation support. I am deeply grateful to everyone who participated for their efforts and I look forward to seeing OICF flourish under Lindsay’s leadership.
Minor Lile and I are hosting an Introduction to Board Service workshop on Wednesday June 26th from 2-4. The workshop will provide a broad understanding of roles and responsibilities of Board service and leading practices for successful nonprofit management. Please contact Hilary@oicf.us if you would like to attend. With over 100 organizations serving this community, skilled Board members are golden!
The Solstice Parade is this Saturday at Noon. It is the perfect start to the 1000 Days of Summer!
I hope you can attend, either as a participant or observer. It is truly part of the heart of Orcas!
