Open House at Orcas Montessori School May 16

The Orcas Montessori School on a typical day, when students self-direct their learning, guided by adults

On Sunday, May 16, Orcas Montessori School will have an open house from 10am to 1pm. Orcas Montessori serves children from ages 3 to 6. All prospective families and other community members are welcome.

The open house is a chance to see the inside of the classroom, explore the materials, and investigate the backyard with its apple orchard and covered play area. The teachers will be on hand to answer questions about the classroom, the schedule, enrollment, and the Montessori Method in general.

Montessori education for preschoolers fosters self-discipline, independence, and responsibility towards the environment and the other members of the community. It helps children find intrinsic satisfaction in increasingly complex tasks, and nurtures lifelong skills in choosing appropriate activities and applying deep concentration to their execution.
