Get onboard! OPALCO is all about membership in the cooperative, and nothing better shows that than the Annual Meeting aboard a Washington State Ferry. To determine your ferry loading time.
If you are traveling to and from Orcas Island
– Ferry leaves the dock promptly at 8:45 AM, so be there earlier to park and register
– The return ferry arrives back at the dock at 11:50 AM on Saturday.
If you are traveling to and from Shaw Island
– Ferry leaves the dock promptly at 9:00 AM on Saturday, be there early to park (and register on the boat)
– The return ferry arrives back at the dock at 12:40 PM.
If you are traveling from San Juan Island
– You’ll need a reservation on the 7:30 chartered boat that will take you to Orcas landing to board with the Orcas 8:45 departure.
– The return chartered boat departs from the Orcas ferry landing at 12 noon to return you to Friday Harbor by 1 PM.
NOTE: if you take the optional 6:10 AM ferry from Friday Harbor, you will need to offload at Orcas Landing and reboard with Orcas members.
OPALCO Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation call for an Annual Meeting to held each year. Historically, that meeting is the occasion for the election of new Board members and a report from the General Manager on the health of the cooperative. A quorum of 100 members is required for the meeting,
