My true love and me
We tossed out the Christmas Tree!
Much better than thowing it down the basement stairs, but what happens next?
Haul it to the County Public Works transfer station — open on Orcas today, Sunday, Jan. 6 until 4 p.m..
Public Works again sponsors this FREE Christmas tree collection program. Trees will be chipped for mulch for use at a public project and not sent to a landfill. The project also provides a better alternative to burning of trees…reducing fire danger and air pollution.
There will be no charge for trees brought to your island’s solid waste facility, but today’s the last day, so make it snappy!
Last year’s chipping program diverted approximately 2.3 tons of Christmas trees from the landfill.

Excellent advertisement for paying it forward to Mother Earth, to employees at the recycle center, to the County for kinda free material to return it to where once it came. Another alternative is to buy a living one and plant it…we need all the clean air we can get! Good Job!
