— from Marla Johns for Orcas Fire & Rescue —

At 1:44 p.m., crews from Orcas Island Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire at 109 North Beach Road.

First crews on scene reported finding an active fire, with smoke and flames coming from the window of the business. A rapid response and knock down prevented the fire from spreading to the adjoining businesses.

Chief Scott Williams reports there were no injuries and there was no one currently in the business at the time of the fire. According to Fire Marshal, Arjae Meyers, the fire is currently under investigation; however the cause does not appear to be suspicious.
