At approximately 6:30 a.m., crews from Orcas Island Fire & Rescue responded to a structure fire at 56 Ivy Lane.

Upon arrival to the scene, responders found a fully engulfed unoccupied home. Due to the extent of the fire, crews were unable to save the home; which was a total loss.

Approximately 20 responders were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the nearby wooded area and surrounding homes with no injuries reported.

Crews will continue conducting fire watch patrols of the scene throughout the day.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation.
