The Orcas Island Community Foundation (OICF) is inviting the community to a Holiday Party at Odd Fellows Hall on Tuesday, December 2 from 4-6pm. The event kicks off the holiday season and the Holiday GiveOrcas community giving campaign.

All are welcome to mix, mingle, craft, and learn about the nonprofit organizations featured in this year’s Holiday GiveOrcas campaign which will be open at GiveOrcas.org from December 2 – 11. Light refreshments, kids’ art activities, games, music, and lots of holiday cheer will be provided.

“OICF is excited to host this community event to celebrate the spirit of giving and spread the word about how GiveOrcas brings the community together to support local organizations that are essential to meeting needs across the island,” said OICF Executive Director Lindsay Jennings.

This year’s Holiday GiveOrcas campaign features proposals from 33 local nonprofit organizations focused on providing crucial social services including food access, housing, healthcare, and education, as well as environmental, arts, animal welfare and other resources to the community. Each organization’s proposal was vetted and approved by the OICF Community Grants Committee composed of local volunteers.

The party will enable organizations to raise awareness of how their proposals will help enhance the quality of life on Orcas island, while providing an opportunity for community members to maximize the impact of their support.
