The Orcas Island Community Foundation Board of Trustees is delighted to announce the selection of Lindsay Jennings as the next Executive Director of OICF, following a thorough and competitive search process.

Lindsay Jennings

Lindsay brings extensive experience in nonprofit management, business leadership, and organizational development to the Foundation. Most recently she has overseen nonprofit client growth initiatives and directed the operations of an international professional association as an executive leader with SBI Association Management. Locally, she proudly served on the Board of Directors for Kaleidoscope Preschool and Childcare through the pandemic years, helping to support the organization in restructuring its governance model, and acquiring land and attaining a grant for expanding its outdoor education program.

Lindsay will officially join OICF on September 1st. Hilary Canty, current ED, will remain with OICF until October 1st to assist with the transition. “I am happy to be able to pass the baton to someone who has such great skills and a deep passion for the island community. I have loved my time with OICF and helping to build a strong Foundation to serve this community has been so rewarding. I am excited to see where Lindsay and the team take it from here.” stated Canty.

Lindsay first fell in love with Orcas growing up as a camper and volunteer at Camp Orkila. In 2018 she settled on the island with her husband and daughter and continues to be amazed each day at the sheer beauty and magic of the island and its wonderful and resilient community. She is thrilled to leverage her professional expertise to make a local positive impact, strengthen the island community and further the important work of the Foundation.

Many thanks to the search committee and the additional community leaders who participated in the process.

OICF will host an Open House from 3 – 6pm at the office, 44 Urner St, on June 28th for community members to meet Lindsay. Stay tuned for additional opportunities to engage with her in the fall. In the meantime, please join OICF in welcoming Lindsay to her new role.
