Odd Fellows readies annual firewood raffle

The Orcas Island Odd Fellows are once again offering islanders a chance to stay warm this  winter while supporting important community causes through their annual Firewood Raffle.

This year’s lucky winner will receive a full cord of firewood, delivered and stacked right at their home. And for those who don’t need firewood themselves, there’s an opportunity to share the warmth by donating their winnings to an island neighbor in need.

Raffle tickets will be available at Island Market every Saturday in October, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are priced at $5 each, three for $10, seven for $20, or ten for $25.

All proceeds benefit the Odd Fellows Scholarship Fund and help support the ongoing maintenance and operation of the historic Orcas Odd Fellows Hall. For generations, the Hall has served as a welcoming and affordable gathering place for island celebrations, performances, classes, dances, meetings, and other community events.

The winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, October 31, at the Odd Fellows Halloween Dance.  Whether you’re hoping to stock up on firewood for the colder months or simply want to support a worthwhile community tradition, the annual Firewood Raffle is a great way to give back and perhaps stay a little warmer this winter!
