Orcas Christian School will serve others abroad this school year with a trip to Hawaii during spring break, and students are taking a unique approach to raising money for the cause while also encouraging islanders to support local businesses. Participating businesses include Madrona Bar and Grill on Orcas Island, along with several off-island businesses and larger chains.

OCS students will be selling cards, similar to gift cards, that provide predetermined discounts at participating businesses when presented. The goal is to sell more than 200 cards, which are priced at $20 each. Community members may also donate cards, which will go to the Orcas Island Resource Center.

“Every purchase supports a dream. Grab your discount card and help our students make waves in Hawaii,” said OCS’ Kami Griffin.

Cards may be preordered in advance and will remain valid until Oct. 15, 2026. Each participating business offers discounts that can be used once per day, with unlimited use throughout the year the card is active. With savings on everything from food to activities, the program provides a meaningful way for the community to give back while enjoying local benefits.

For more information or to purchase a card, call the OCS office at (360) 376-6683.
