Meanwhile…
Former Orcas Island Resident, Marla Johns, has helped give Skagit County a proactive program that works with Law Enforcement to address mental health concerns. Her experience as the spouse of a career law-enforcement officer is invaluable in her understanding of how the system works.

Would have been great for that type of program to develop here, but we have a distinct lack of leadership at the top. Sadly, due to this, we lost her and a great officer.
I sincerely hope Sherriff Krebs reads the recent Crosscut article and consults with the training agencies interviewed in it. We cannot afford for simplistic, politically motivated interpretations of the new laws to endanger our officers and the public.
Shame on you, Lin and Watson.
Looks like we’ve got the next Mr. Fish in our local e-Rag! Sums it up perfectly, seriously, great work, and props to Lin for the courage to allow, gasp, (clutching pearls) …satire…
A disgraceful cartoon.
