This seems very much like AI. Chomsky’s own website doesn’t feature it (and in fact hasn’t posted anything of him for almost a year).
This is more AI-geneated bullshit. Chomsky would not be amused.
This “How Much Time is Left” is a wildly ironic rant, if legit at all: I remember reading/studying his Linguistics work in college (1980s) and grad school (turn of the Century!) Does this piece simply suggest the End of Chomsky? AI is a valid explanation. ‘Preciate it!
Agree with the comments above. If you read / listen to Chomsky, he is full of very specific facts and examples from his research of recent history. This is repetitive blah-blah about “This too shall pass,” (YAWN! ) is antithetical to his message, and is probably planted for that reason. Chomsky would say: KNOW and RESIST!
Having taken an MIT course from Chomsky decades ago, I have to agree that this does not sound like the world-famous linguist (and anarchist) I knew then. But of course that was decades ago, when he was in his critical prime! Still, this “discourse” goes round and round, repeating essentially the same message over and over again — that we are at a turning point in history. The real Chomsky would give you detailed reasons why.
I was under the impression that Chomsky suffered a stroke last year and was no longer writing or speaking.

I’d appreciate an explanation for why this got through Orcasonian “security.”
