||| FROM SAN JUAN COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS |||

The San Juan County Noxious Weed Control Program works with the local transfer stations to accept noxious weed debris at no charge. The last day for free disposal will be September 30, 2025 – so don’t delay! Many islanders have been hard at work keeping invasive plants in check and using the free service all summer – thank you!

While noxious weed disposal at SJC transfer stations will no longer be free after September 30, alternative disposal methods exist. See a list of resources here: https://www.nwcb.wa.gov/pdfs/Noxious_weed_disposal_2012-1.pdf

We’re Here to Help!

We all need to do our part to look out for invasive weeds and take action to keep their spread in check. If you think you have noxious weed lurking in your spaces but you aren’t sure, check out this ID guide or send us a photo by email:  noxiousweeds@sanjuancountywa.gov.

Our staff is available for no-cost site consultation or targeted herbicide applications, and we always try to lend a hand in neighborhood-organized work parties.
