||| FROM KATHI CISKOWSKI for ORCAS GENEALOGY CLUB |||
The Orcas Island Genealogy Club has been interested in DNA testing since it became part of the common genealogy experience for many researchers. Club member, Gloria Eppig has taken a strong interest in this topic and will share her thoughts and research with us at our next meeting on Tuesday June 15, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on ZOOM.
“DNA Privacy: Things you should know” will discuss how DNA results are used for medical and academic research, law enforcement and other purposes, the risks of having DNA results out there as well as some tips for ensuring that your DNA data is protected.
The club meets (virtually during the pandemic) on the third Tuesday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is hosted by the Orcas Island Public Library.
To attend please contact either Vicki Leimback at vleimback@gmail.com or Kathi Ciskowski at 360-376-4186 or ciskokid@rockisland.com. There is a different topic every month. Anyone interested in genealogy (any knowledge level) is invited to join this free local club. A ZOOM link will be sent via email before the meeting.
