Tuesday Apr 8th is Science Day for Earth Day Orcas Month. Two informative and valuable events full of local environmental impact news are meeting at the Parish Hall at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church:
Climate COMPASS, 3:30pm: Dynamic and challenging learning tools and process in small groups explores both familiar and surprising local climate data and future impacts. Fun way to get educated about climate impacts and forecasts for our islands. Hosted by the Madrona Institute. Bring a friend!
Soup dinner follows at 5:30. Open to afternoon and evening participants featuring island grown food.
Orcas EV Charger Network, 6:30: Update with activist Bruce Benton regarding the $600,000 in State of WA funding to improve transportation options on Orcas Island.
Eel Grass and Shoreline Update with Tina Whitman, Senior Science Director at Friends of the San Juans, shares news about their research and findings about the state of the Salish Sea, 7pm
