Really?! Might it be OK to burn Donald Trump in effigy, provided we purchase them from his family business before doing so, so that they profit from the action? Perhaps we can use some of the billiions of taxpayer dollars slashed from medical and scientific research, or preventing cyber hacks and other attacks on our infrastructure to buy his buddy Putin the property next to Mar a Lago? And since his staff is re-opening the whole topic of Russian attempts to get Trump elected in 2016, what about Hillary’s email server and Hunter Biden’s laptop?
My senior high school civics class in 73-74 focussed on Watergate, and it’s frankly bizarre that here we are. Perhaps it’s evidence that we’re living in a simulation, as some have suggested, since how could we possibly have come to this version of “reality?”
Executive orders are not laws. Only Congress can pass laws, as long as they are signed by the president. Executive orders do apply to members of the federal agency staffs, unfortunately, and that’s where the confusion often arises..
Michael Riordan – Thank you for that clarification. I wonder if you would be willing to expand upon Executive orders? With both houses of Congress nearly evenly divided, Executive orders seem to be the new favorite tool of the executive office and it would be good to understand how executive orders actually function, what the limitations are, etc.
It would also be nice to limit misleading headlines everywhere… but that is outside our bailiwick I’m afraid.
