Makes sense to me. If plastic is made from oil, a lubricant that helps earth spin on its axis, it makes sense that finding a method to recycle it would turn it back into… oil. But shouldn’t we put some of it back into the ground? And if this method is successful, why in the world would the US or anyone with oil reserves, export oil in its dirtiest unrefined form, by ship, in vulnerable seas, to China? We could keep it here and put the majority of plastic waste back in the ground where it belongs. I don’t think it would be in the core of the earth if Earth didn’t need oil. Let’s hope the younger generations can also solve GREED! I’m rooting for them.
