Joan Roulac, with 25 years experience teaching T’ai Chi Chih, launches a new Winter Series on Monday, Jan. 9 at the Orcas Senior Center.
On the first day, she offers “a gift to the community — a one-hour free introductory practice class.”
Joan says, “Experience better balance when you join us for T’ai Chi Chih , a slow and flowing meditative practice based on ancient Chinese principles that Harvard Health Letter refers to as medication in motion.
“Students appreciate many health benefits including:better balance, strength, flexibility and inner peace, stress reduction, weight loss and pain relief, tinitis and blood pressure stabilization.”
The free introductory class is offered at 9:30 a.m. (Level 1) and the 11 a.m. class is for Level 2. The eight-week class runs Jan. 9 through March 12 . The cost for the series is $90.

I am 86 years old & would be a beginner – which level would be appropriate for me?
Joan is a gift to us all; the 11:00 class is eager for the new beginning…my blood pressure appreciates Joan, as does my arthritis!
Anybody can do it…..the Chinese call Tai Chi the long life discipline.
Thank you, jubilant Joan!
