I have a new picture book coming out next week (Feb. 10) from Candlewick/Penguin Random House titled Twelve Daring Grays: A Whale Migration Adventure. It’s a true story about the adventurous gray whales, known as the Sounders, that make a long, risky detour off their usual migration route to find food on the mudflats of Puget Sound.

The book has starred reviews from Kirkus, School Library Journal, and Booklist. Here’s the Kirkus one: https://www. kirkusreviews.com/book- reviews/nora-nickum/twelve- daring-grays/ And it’s available to purchase through Darvill’s (https://darvillsbookstore. com/search?q=twelve%20daring% 20grays).
In addition to being a children’s book author (this is my fourth book), I am the VP of Conservation Programs and Partnerships at the Seattle Aquarium.
