The Orcas Island Adventist Fellowship has announced that a new pastor will be joining the congregation this year.
André Luis Rodrigues will assume leadership of the church and also take on responsibilities at Orcas Christian School. He previously served as a missionary on the island of Palawan in the Philippines from 2019 to 2021.
“I envision my role with the school and the church as that of a servant, responsible for leading the new generation toward Christ, and equipping and training the church—the body of Christ—to fulfill its purpose and mission according to God’s Word,” Rodrigues said.
Rodrigues said he is looking forward to moving to Orcas Island, which reminds him of the community he served in the Philippines.
“I am very excited to return to a peaceful place, similar to where I lived for three years in the Philippines, and especially to connect with a new family in Christ,” he said. “I pray and hope that, by His grace and love, God will unite us as a church to reveal His salvation and His second coming to the people of Orcas Island.”
