THE GALLERY: A cooperative of the Terry Johnson group
A new gallery will be opening in Eastsound. THE GALLERY, is the brainchild of Betsy and Jim Nelson of Orcas Island and is intended to be a showplace for a group of artists that are of a select and closed membership, and have been working together for 6-10 years.
It is a venue that exhibits two dimensional artwork only (no crafts). It is not a retail space, but contact information about the exhibiting artists will be available.
“It’s clearly focused, direct in its intent, and it’s a cooperative…manned and supported by all the members. These artists are going to exhibit quality work!” says Terry Johnson.
THE GALLERY plans to open on July 4th, and the building is still under renovation in terms of outside painting and signage, but the interior is beautiful and ready to go. It is located 374 North Beach Road, across from Enzo’s. Hours are: Thurs-Sun, 12:00-4:00, or by appointment. Gallery contact info will be posted at the gallery.
