Was no reason given for his departure, so soon?
The story is an important one.
The story was ignored by local media.
Others deserve to know the truth.
To Spirt Eagle and Bob Phalan: First, I appreciate you both taking the time to question and write. Social media, with some obvious flaws, offers us all the opportunity to exchange and discuss ideas. Perhaps you saw the article in the Island Sounder on 10/5. For whatever reason, this article is much harder to find on line, but included only hearsay and comments from people who don’t know me, my values or my background. I found it noteworthy that the writer of that article never reached out to me for comment. Is that serious reporting or something else? I don’t know the writer and hope she’ll do a better job of “reporting” in the future. She might have learned much more than what she only wanted to believe was the truth. As Mark Twain said, “If You Don’t Read the Newspaper You Are Uninformed, If You Do Read the Newspaper You Are Misinformed.”
Tossing aside the wisdom of our older adults who have stable and clear cut values centered on the US absent public voice & discussion is a tremendous flaw in the US. Without discourse, we succumb to the will of authoritarian leaders who want to make it easy to have like mindedness. Yes it is easier. However, to achieve greatness and harness the brains of this great Nation, we must embrace different viewpoints and come to agreement on the best for the purpose of the cause. Discourse and debate and compromise has been lost. To move forward, listen to all, share objections, find solutions, compromise. It is not all about Winning, but being great.
