One new positive COVID-19 case has been attributed to San Juan County, which brings the total number of cases in San
Juan County to date to 33. This new case was reported in a part-time resident of a non-ferry served island. The initial
case investigation is complete. No close contacts in San Juan County have been identified and the patient was outside of
San Juan County during the period of time they were infectious. The findings from the case investigation suggest the
transmission source was via off-island contact.

As cases continue to sharply rise across many parts of the United States, including recent more moderate upward trends
in WA, this is a time for ongoing vigilance and care. San Juan County’s success with preventing community transmission
in the islands is not because we were never at risk, but because islanders have been diligent in managing that risk.
Please be thoughtful and cautious when traveling off-island or welcoming off-island visitors into your home.
