Nell Robinson and Jim Nunnally come to the Odd Fellows Hall this Sunday

Sunday, April 29 at 7 p.m. at  the Odd Fellows Hall

From Jay Kimball

Nell Robinson’s music is a sensuous sepia-toned blend of folk, bluegrass, country, and Americana. Nell will be performing with award winning guitarist Jim Nunally. Jim Nunally is a world-class guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, and has toured extensively with the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience and John Reischman. He is the recipient of two Grammy award certificates and two IBMA awards. He is also a two time Western Open Masterpicking Champion and Guitar Champion. His most recent CD “Gloria’s Waltz” showcases his distinctive pickin’ and singing.

Nell and Jim’s concerts include well-loved songs from her albums “Loango” and “On the Brooklyn Road”. This harmony-driven duo’s musical style is reminiscent of classic country duets like George Jones and Tammy Wynette as well as singing siblings like the Louvin and Stanley Brothers. Think Del McCroury meets Iris DeMent. They will preview original new material from their highly-anticipated upcoming “duo” album that will be released this summer. In addition to their own original material Nell and Jim cover music ranging from Bill Monroe to Nine Inch Nails.

Last year, Nell performed for a standing room only audience at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The audience gave Nell a standing ovation!

The concert is at the Odd Fellows Hall on Sunday, April 29, at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 and doors open at 6:45 pm.
