Starting on Wednesday, July 22, our popular Ferry Naturalist Program resumes on select Anacortes/Friday Harbor sailings.
This longstanding partnership between WSF, the Whale Museum in Friday Harbor and Orca Network educates visitors to San Juan Island about the Southern Resident killer whales and the threats they face. Trained volunteer naturalists provide passengers with information about orca whales and good stewardship practices.
Look for these marine naturalists on the 1:50 p.m. sailing from Friday Harbor and 4:45 p.m. sailing from Anacortes every Wednesday for the rest of the summer.
What a great idea! Why Wednesdays, though? That’s probably the least-traveled day for tourists.
