The Utah Repertory Dance Theatre will conduct five dance/movement classes to the Orcas community on Wednesday, March 7. The classes are offered FREE to the community through the efforts of Orcas Center, which received funding to bring the Utah Repertory Dance Theatre to Orcas Island.

All classes, except for an additional 11:30-12:30 class offered to Orcas Middle/High School students, are open to the public. Class size is limited to 30 for each class, so sign up now by emailing margaretdoyle7@gmail.com or calling 360-317-7518.

The schedule of the classes are as follows:

9 – 10 a.m. Emmanuel Parish Hall
“Meditation Movement” especially for local movement classes (Yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, Ecstatic, Silks, Spiritual, modern, ballroom and swing dance) but OPEN TO ALL

1:30 – 2:30 – Orcas Senior Center
“Creative Aging” Senior Movement Class

4 – 5:15 – Emmanuel Parish Hall
“Beating the Sedentary Habit” improvisational movement dance workshop – a feel-good, move-free, stress-reduction class

5:30 – 6:45 – Emmanuel Parish Hall
“Beating the Sedentary Habit” improvisational movement dance workshop – a feel-good, move-free, stress-reduction class.

Thursday, March 8 UTAH REPERTORY DANCE THEATRE in performance at Orcas Center at 6:30 p.m.

Those who attend the FREE workshops on Wednesday, March 7 will have the opportunity to buy tickets to the Thursday night performance at a discounted price. Again, participants in the FREE workshops must register in advance by emailing margaretdoyle7@gmail.com or calling 360-317-7518.
